Laura Peribañez Artero

Laura Peribañez Artero is quickly gaining recognition as one of the most exciting and versatile Spanish musicians of her generation. Growing up in Barcelona, she made her concert debut at L’Auditori de Barcelona at the age of 9 and has since performed extensively across Spain and Europe in festivals such as IMS Prussia Cove, Barcelona Obertura Spring Festival, Aurora Chamber Music Festival in Sweden, and the Cello Biënnale Amsterdam.

She has received awards and scholarships from the Hattori Foundation, British Spanish Society, Drake Calleja Trust, Craxton Memorial Trust, and the Catalan Government. In 2020, Laura won the 3rd prize at the JM Spain String Competition, and in 2021, she was the Antonio Brosa Award holder at the Royal College of Music, where she pursued an Artist Diploma degree under Richard Lester and was awarded the RCM Musicians’ Grant Fund upon completion of her studies.

In October 2023, Laura joined the Barcelona Youth Symphony Orchestra and conductor Carlos Checa in a tribute to the legendary Catalan cellist Pau Casals, commemorating the 50th anniversary of his passing. She performed Bruch’s Kol Nidrei at London's Cadogan Hall as well as Palau de la Música and L’Atlàntida de Vic in Catalonia, Spain. Laura’s work is supported by Institut Ramon Llull, the Catalan Government and the Spanish Embassy in the UK. In 2022 she was selected as a ‘Young Artist of the year’ by the Catalan Association of Classical Musicians.

Laura has collaborated with and received guidance from Casals Quartet, Frans Helmerson, Gary Hoffman, Ferenc Rados, Heime Müller and Gordan Nikolic amongst others. She has been a guest at venues such as the Palace of Nations in Geneva, Flagey (Brussels), J K Matthews Great Hall (Pretoria), White Piano Hall (Vilnius), DeSingel (Antwerp) and Auditorio de Zaragoza. She has filmed and performed for Classic FM and in the new institutional video of the Government of Catalunya. Since 2021 she is a professor at JOCG Orchestra in Spain and this summer she will be joining the faculty of the Chamber Music by the Lake Festival taking place in Blonay, Switzerland.
